Reviews of Red Hill, VIC

"The most in demand suburb in Victoria"

As the sun sets a shifting swell of red; orange and yellow slowly makes its way from the horizon painting the rolling hills, through the valley; kissing the creek before beginning its climb up the gentle slope. A slight pause to caress the outbuildings letting the chooks know its time for the coup and the meandering jersey cows it’s getting late. Tiny flying things explode from the paddocks; the butterfly’s head home and the frogs begin their night time symphony. From the deck you sit; lost in the sights, sounds, the smells of Red Hill Country. Whatever happened today is rejoiced or forgotten as a glass of local red beckons your attention.

"The country charm of Red Hill South"

We are so lucky living here. The shopping centre people are so friendly and helpful. The local noticeboard is well used with an assortment of things to buy and sell. The coffee shops are second to none. You can buy from home wares, farm equipment to the local paper and wonderful flowers.

Its also home of the famous Red Hill Market each month (excluding winter).

If you venture on some bush walks you may be lucky to catch sight of a koala, kookaburras, wrens, finches, and in some areas magnificent king parrots. Sometimes there are wonderful black cockatoos on a fly past too.

Great for

  • Privacy and the prolific bird life.

Not great for

  • Maybe too quiet for some people.

"Nestled in the hills between the two bays Red Hill is a truly exclusive and beautiful place"

Every sunday morning I mountain bike with the local mountain bike club Red Hill Riders, the town feels so relaxed and is wonderfully situated with hills and wineries and glimpses of Westernport and Port Phillip bay at either end. Houses around here tend to be quite large and the nicer end is near Main Ridge, There are wonderuf cafes, a bakery and a Food Works located 5 mins down the road at Red Hill South. There is a large football club, and 4 tennis courts with plexi-pave great for having a hit. A large amount of Red Hill is made up of holiday house owners and it does tend to get a bit "high class" in summer and longweekends. But for most people you will find this a truly amazing place to live, and or visit.

Rentals in Red Hill

"A beautiful, peaceful place to visit"

Red Hill is a small, rural town with just over 1000 residents. Based in the hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula, it is ideally suited to families and retirees who enjoy the quiet life. Nestled between Safety Beach, Mount Martha, Main Ridge, Shoreham, Flinders and Point Leo, Red Hill is also just an hour’s drive south of Melbourne. It is a beautiful place to visit on holiday but living here would only suit those seeking something quite remote. The town has an Australian Rules football team for those seeking a sporting outlet.
