What areas outside Adelaide are nice for children to grow up in?

I'm a single mum moving to Adelaide next year with a 5 year old who will be starting school. I'm looking to rent in an area with a good school, ideally also with lots of nature, parks and gardens around. It needs to be within 30 mins of Flinders Uni. I like the look of the Flagstaff Hill and Hawthornedene schools, but have not yet visited these towns. Really interested in hearing suggestions of areas that are nice for a child to grow up in.
