Where to live?

Hi all I am a complete country bumpkin. 22yo I am wondering whats the cons of stirling? And if you'd recommend to move there or any other suburbs? How costly is it? Is there much crime etc. Also I have a dog and love the outdoors so is there much to do in that area??
