"Fair"
Eh , its good , pretty quite , only downside is that its near too mansfield park but otherwise quite good
"A great, new developing area"
This area is part of the Westwood Development and most of the street has completed construction phase. Majority of the old Housing Trust properties were bought by Westwood and have been demolished to make way for all hew housing by some great Builders.
The street is now starting to take shape including the newly created park/recreational area. There are many new parks/recreational areas within Westwood and also a bike track. Even though there are factories around it does not bother us at all as this means less congestion (especially as many of these new houses are on much smaller blocks than the older, more conventional houses).
The area still requires new commercial development such as retail outlets, restaurants from various cuisines, etc. as it is predominantly Asian influenced at the moment and the buildings look very outdated. The area would benefit from a more multicultural influence.
Overall, Athol Park (and the surrounding Suburbs) seems to be a nice place to live and close to amenities (also right up the road from Centro Arndale).

"A local's perspective on Athol Park"
Athol park used to be a thoroughfare between Woodville and Grand Junction road.. with mainly 70's era Housing Trust homes. Fast forward to 2010.. and you'll see some really nice double storey homes, nice beemers parked in driveways and some clever landscaping. It's now a happening suburb in the Westwood redevelopment with the advantages of being close to the city and close to the beach. I'm a local here, living in adjacent Mansfield park another suburb in Westwood and have been here for around 20 odd years now. Definately worth checking out if you like the western suburbs.
