Is it safe for me to live in Auburn (in Susan St) especially for a Filipino like me?

Is the crime, driveby shootings very frequent? Rate from 1 to 10, 10 being very frequent. ur tips advice is very helpful for me as i will be livng there for 2 years. I am actually nervous just reading from the negative comments about Auburn..

Unruly people, minorities are ok for me, as long as they dont kill, shoot, stab me...LOL

I lived on Marion St., which is very near to Susan st. It is in fact very safe. I lived there for 3 years and never witnessed a crime. Also, there's a police station very close by, so it can't be too bad. The only real problem with Auburn is that people can be very rude/dangerous drivers. But the positives are that it is very conveniently located, the food is very cheap and they have good middle eastern restaurants.

I had a very bad experience at Auburn, quite a few years ago now. I had a man approach me well into his late 30s I was 15. He asked me out, I just ignored him and walked with my sister to have lunch at the Pizza Hut. While sitting in a booth I noticed that he had followed us and was hanging around the carpark watching me through the windows.
We ended up having to alert the waitress and she called the police.
The police came, they bailed him up and started questioning him. While this was going on an officer came into the restaurant and said they couldn't arrest him basically because he didn't do anything. He told us to go straight to the train station while they were still speaking to him, so we had a head start to get home without him following us.
I've never been back there ever since.
