is the commute from Ballarat to Stawell (return) too bad to do 8 days in a row?
Ballarat Central, VIC 3350 is located within the Ballarat local government area, part of the Central Highlands Region in Victoria.
So my partner got a job at Stawell and the roster is 8 days on 6 days off. However, Stawell and Ararat are too small for me (work wise) and we both don't like those towns very much, so we figured Ballarat would be a good location as he has 6 days off. The problem is that Ballarat is 1.5 hours from Stawell, so he'd have to commute for that time the 8 days he's working. I was wondering if anyone has experience with long commutes to work? The train times are not great, so he'd probably have to drive, but the idea doesn't sit very well with me. We are thinking maybe we can get him accomodation in Stawell while he works. Any input is appreciated!

It is an easy drive if that helps. The highway has and is being upgraded. Ballarat certainly has a lot more opportunities and easy access to so many locations. I do know people who commute and use it to listen to pod casts, e-learning etc. So it just depends on his mind set.
