"Quiet, Leafy, Convenient"

Bardon is a delightful refuge with a true community vibe, featuring classic Queensland homes and leafy green outlooks. This tranquil suburb, nestled in the foothills of Mount Coot-tha, makes the most of its hilly location and offers a peaceful community atmosphere while being accessible to the city's hotspots.

"A lovely leafy inner city suburb - great place to raise a family."

We moved out from Paddington to Bardon because we needed more bedrooms and a larger garden. Bardon is a great mix of bothinner city charm and large blocks which are harder to find in Paddington. GREAT for family life. Lots of lovely cottages and Queenslanders. We live next to a park. Have been here a year and love it.

"A beautiful inner Brisbane suburb where you ought to raise your family"

Bardon is a spectacular and quiet place which is close to the CBD. In my whole 20 years of living here I have only ever been waiting at a traffic light for over one minute once and that was in Milton the neighbouring suburb. It is diverse and great for people with average incomes or those who are affluent. Very good public and private schools and there is a park entrance on almost every street! I love it

A fantastic suburb to live in. After leaving Brisbane a few years ago, it was a no-brainer as to where we wanted to move when we cam back.

"Brilliant Bardon"

We've been forced to think about moving from Bardon and I feel so sad! It's a beautiful suburb: great parks, hilly backdrop, no through traffic, gorgeous forest and walking tracks and, increasingly, very good cafe options.
It's nice and close to Paddington for shopping/restaurants/bars and is surprisingly central for such a "fringes of the city" feel. We especially love being so close to the State Forest and it's been a wonderful place to hang out with our little daughter since she was born.
I adore that I can get to the city in 20 minutes even in peak hour, and duck around the back Mt Coot-tha to be at Indooroopilly even more quickly.

Great for

  • Parks and walking tracks
  • Quaint and appealing built environment
  • Great local cafes

Not great for

  • Mobile reception can be a bit iffy
  • The Macgregor Terrace/Jubilee Terrace intersection can be slow

"A quiet escape in the inner city"

Bardon is a quaint, leafy suburb close to the city. The Queenslander houses and narrow streets give the suburb an old-world charm, and there are plenty of trees and greenery to lend this suburb a peaceful vibe. I have lived in this suburb for 15 years (on the "Rainworth" side of Bardon) and have always found it to be quiet, clean and safe. It is also very close to the restaurants of Rosalie and a short drive to the city. However I do not recommend this suburb for anyone without a car, as the public transport is limited to buses that are not very reliable. Also, if you are commuting to the city, the traffic is very heavy on Milton Rd and Coronation Drive.

"It is hard to believe it is inner city"

Bardon has everything I want in a suburb, it is close to the city and yes feels like you are in a leafy, tranquil escape when you walk through the area. I have rented here, and often took an evening walk where I always felt safe and very much at home. People are friendly and over all it was a gorgeous place to live.

"Leafy and Lovely"

Bardon is an excellent suburb to live in, in the greater Brisbane area. It's most definitely on my top ten list of suburbs I'd settle down in. It's streets are mostly quiet and tree lined, featuring lovely cottages and renovated old Brisbane dames. It's close enough to the city for a quick commute and the public transport system is excellent from here. The roadworks that plagued the area in the last few years are now over and traffic is a lot more manageable. There are some great schools and daycare centres here, not to mention awesome cafes and boutique shops. Bardon has all of the benefits of living in the city, without the noise, hustle and bustle and grittiness. I do so love Bardon.

"Stylish and Sweet"

Rosalie has some of the best and best kept secret cafes in Brisbane. It's atmospheric streets are lined with great houses and stylish restaurants. There are chocolate and sweet shops, galleries, fitness clubs, boutiques and fashion designers. It's a hip and buzzing little place. Even better, the locals are very friendly and there is an obvious sense of pride in where they live. And why shouldn't there be, it's close to the city, situated in between Paddington and Auchenflower and has an awesome variety of activities. The Sit Down Comedy club is a favourite of mine as is the the Blue Room Cinebar, which is currently playing some fab Italian operas. Perhaps not the most affordable place to buy, but rent's not bad.
