How did Boomer Bay get its name?

Blackmans Bay, TAS 7052 is located within the Kingborough local government area, part of the Greater Hobart Region in Tasmania.

Recently visited this area (from Qld) and fell in love with it. Am trying to find out why Boomer Bay is named as such. Can anyone tell me where the name came from?
