Where are the best neighborhoods in Boulder for 1st time home buyers?

If you like mid-century ranches, then Martin Acres/Hy View in South Boulder or Baseline/Park East are going to have the most selection. 2-story options are going to be fairly small, in the 1100-1300sf range can be found in North Boulder at 26th & Jay Rd. Townhouses can offer closer to 2,000sf, 2-car garages, and private master baths -- check out all the options in Table Mesa.

Don't forget Baseline subdivision, Some City programs will restrict re-sale for a fixed amount of gain, but still beats any savings account!!!

Typically south Boulder, neighborhoods like Table Mesa and Martin Acres are more economical than the central and northern neighborhoods. There are also some areas in eastern Boulder which have homes which are less expensive, such as Kings Ridge area and Park East.

It is a tough question since buying a home in many cases has more to do with affordability than how many homes a Buyer has purchased in the past. Since Boulder has great amenities such as trails, parks, Hiking Trails, etc. Some folk who felt they may have needed a single family home in another area will find an attached dwelling is a great answer in Boulder and this tends to be a more affordable option. If a Buyer would like a single family home that is more affordable Martin Acres, Lower Table Mesa, Sundance, Palo Park, and Winding Trails may be a good option.
