Looking for a change with friendly people and good work opportunities

My friend and I are currently living in rural victoria. We are looking for a change of town and state. She has three children so while looking for a nice town I also need to make sure I can find somewhere with good education for them. they are all under the age of five. We are looking for a place with friendly people, good work opportunities, good education and all round good place to raise children. Could someone whos grown up/lived there for a long time let me know how good this town is for all of the above. Thank you.

I have lived in Byron bay for thirty years and have three children, 6 11 and 14. Byron bay public school is a great school with a nice culture of acceptance with still a focus on achieving in all areas of education and being a good citizen. There are three other primary schools to choose from. Secondary we have a high school and other private schools within a 30 - 40 min bus ride. Byron bay has a fabulous community and lots of art, sport and good things for kids to do like surf, fish diving . To drive from one end to the other is 15minutes ( without traffic) . Work depends on what you do really.

I arrived in Byron Bay in 1994 and fell in love with the place instantly. I have two boys ages 8 and 3 both born here. My older boy goes to Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School which he loves as do we. When we researched which school to send our boys we were overwhelmed with the our choices of good schools in the area. We live just south of Byron Bay in a small village called Suffolk Park. Our neighbourhood is very friendly and family orientated. We are now in a stage in our lives where we are growing out of our home however don't want to move due to our amazing neighbours. In regards to work, it really does depend on what you do. My wife is from here and I have been her now for 20 years and I still love the place. It is a great place to bring up a family and I feel grateful to have the opportunity to do so. Hope this helps...
