Grease Sing-A-Long at the Metreon

Anybody been to this yet? Seems like tonight was the last night, but it could come back if demand is up. Just curious. I wanted to go and it looks like fun, but was curious if anyone else had gone.

I haven't been but my wife went to another one of these sing-a-long deals and she loved that. She loves Grease and I know that the movie is a favorite of any girl who was alive in the seventies--but I wonder if Gen Y gets into it as much as Gen X did? \.)

Myself, I have a bad habit of falling asleep during musicals. The last one I went to was the film, Chicago and the last thing I remember was Mr. Selofane (sp?) and then I was being prodded awake to Richard Gere singing. As a teenager I used to put headphones on to get to sleep, so anytime I get in a dark room with music my body goes into sleep mode unless I'm standing up.

Sounds like fun! I haven't been, but I did go to a "Sound of Music" sing-along back in high school. It was a lot of fun - they played the movie on a large screen, had all sorts of themed souvenirs, and had people dressed up as nuns getting the crowd going. Definitely hokey, definitely fun. It kind of plays to that deep-seated desire that everyone has to break into song when they watch a movie or musical to which they know all the words (well, maybe not everyone)...

@Nightowl - I have the same problem with just about any movie or tv show - it is almost reflex that I'll fall asleep anytime I am doing something passive.

I'm so bummed. So the Grease Sing -a-long is gone for now, but you can demand it to come back to your city via their website. If you want it to come to your area http://eventful.com/competitions/grease2010

@NightOwInOrinda - I definitely think it is a Gen X thing, although Grease has staying power so....

With the popularity of shows like Glee you would think that Gen Y-ers would like shows Grease. But you never know--given the stuff that I've heard at my niece's house.
