Yes, and it has happened and still planning. There is a block of a number of shopping centres west of the airport, only a few years old.
The airport itself has had federal government funding for an upgrade.
Further development can be undertaken as like a lot of the far east of Hobart, there is a large amount of vacant land around. Further development in that case would be uncertain, but on that regard, Sorell is a place to watch out for.
