Westfield Shoppingtown car park is a walk in the park compared to Chadstone

I just returned from a trip to the new extended Chadstone Shopping centre and I just had to share my experience with everyone and will give centre management a piece of my mind as well.

Since it was a rainy day I thought that may keep some away so it would be a good day to shop and check out the new extension . Well I was wrong.....dead wrong. It seems everyone had the same idea. The nearer I was getting to the centre the more congested the traffic was getting so that rang alarm bells, but I thought , well I'm here now there's no turning back.

I should have turned back because once I was in there I was stuck with nowhere to turn for at least 40 minutes , and even then it still took me another 40 to finally fight other motorists for a spot. It seems human nature is at its worst when the elusive car spot is nowhere to be seen. As soon as a person holding keys would appear , engines would start to roar attempting to intimidate anyone in their path ! I ended up parking at a yellow striped no standing spot next to the supermarket trolleys because I was close to having a nervous breakdown !

In simple terms the carpark situation at Chadstone is a nightmare and even that is an understatement . I don't care if this is the largest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere, I wouldn't even care if it was the largest in the Universe I am boycotting it and continuing to shop at Westfield Shoppingtown Doncaster and also thank God for online shopping from the comfort of my comfortable leather desk chair because the Fashion Capital has turned into a traffic headache for me.

Hey DArgy,

I havent been to Chaddy yet, in fact I haven't been since Doncaster Shoppingtown opened! I am curious about the new sections that have opened up, however I am a bit hesitant to venture down there considering christmas is just around the corner and the shops are getting very busy. When I get down there, I'll be sure to post my comments on the situation.

Do you think the Doncaster Shoppingtown parking has improved at all?

Don't bother with Chaddy AJ , Shoppingtown has everything we need . Chadstone has more luxury stores now like Burberry, Gucci, Chanel, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu.But honestly who can afford a $5000 Chanel bag ? I know I can't .......

Yes I think Doncaster has improved alot .

If you want to spend time in the shops as opposed to going round and round in the carpark, it sounds like Doncaster is way more convenient and less stressful.

But if you live south-east or bayside it's a long drive to Donny. The local options are really only Chaddy or it's ugly cousin Southland.

Chaddy is really the only decent option out that way, so yes I do feel for the people who have to shop there.

DArgy my girlfriend is a budding fashion designer, so unfortunately come xmas time, I find it hard to buy something cheap and keep her happy :(

I'm still going to check it out this side of xmas, so I'll let you know.

AJ a girl doesn't have to be a budding fashion designer to want quality : )

If she loves you she'll love anything you buy her ....

There are some great sites these days that have quality items at a fraction of the cost at the stores . Here's a couple that I love www.revolveclothing.com and www.brandsexclusive.com.au

Happy shopping
