Are Cincinnatians generally pretty friendly?

I think it really depends on where you are and how you approach someone or what you approach them about. Overall, I'd say probably not for the most part. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely not as unfriendly as New York, but I'd say that because the neighborhoods of the city are fairly disparate and mostly not walkable, that you won't find a lot of friendly people on the street. You might have more luck in certain parts around Downtown or Over-The-Rhine, but I think most people prefer to keep to themselves.
I think Cincinnatians are friendly, but I may be a bit biased. I've lived here many years and found that if you smile and say hello, just about anyone you encounter will say hello right back. if you're lost, they will give you directions or help with any other information you need.
