Other than the annual Crosstown Shootout Basketball game, I don't think the students or the teachers consider their relationship a rivalry. The schools are so different, with different specialties. I haven't attended U.C. for years, but my son-in-law teaches there and my daughter taught at Xavier for two years. Neither of them sensed a rivalry of any kind.
