Sports Plus on Reading Road (just up the road from Northland) offers skating lessons for figure skating and ice hockey through Learn to Skate Cincinnati. Sports Plus also offers public ice rink skate sessions. Sports Plus is also home to the Figure Skating Club of Cincinnati.

I'll address outdoor rinks first. In the winter, Fountain Square hosts the U.S. Bank Ice Rink, a beautiful set-up about the size of Rockefeller Square in NYC (about 7,000 sq ft). They offer skate rentals, lockers, and a heated tent with snacks and drinks. It's a really laid back and beautiful place to go skating with friends or family in the winter months.

If you're looking for an indoor rink (or for something more serious), I suggest the Northland Ice Center in Evendale. They offer figure skating and hockey lessons, as well as leagues and clinics. They also house the Queen City Figure Skating Club, the largest of its kind in the area. The center also welcomes beginners, offering group lessons to novice skaters. In addition, they offer packages for birthday parties, group outings, and other celebrations.
