What are some good local German restaurants?

A new place to go is Wunderbar in Covington. Wunderbar is a German themed bar featuring a large selection of German beers as well as housemade sausages among other German fare.
There are a number of local restaurants that celebrate Cincinnati's German heritage. Mecklenburg Gardens in Corryville, near the University of Cincinnati campus, is one of the area's best German restaurants. The restaurant is located in a 19th century building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and retains the original German architectural elements. The restaurant offers traditional German fare along with a variety of American foods to accommodate all palates. Of course, as a German restaurant, there are plenty of beers on tap (and bottled) to choose from. Christy's & Lenhardt's on McMillan (also near the UC campus) offers both traditional German and Hungarian fare. If you want to venture over the river to Northern Kentucky, you can dine at Wertheim's Restaurant in Covington or Hofbrauhaus in Newport. Hofbrauhaus is modeled after the original located in Munich, Germany; it is the first authentic Hofbrauhaus in America. They have both a Bier Hall and a Bier Garden. These are just a few of the German restaurants in the Cincinnati area.
