Not really sure if most Cincinnatians really eat it, but I know some who absolutely love it. I honestly don't know if I ever ate any, but I remember by grandma fixing it when I was little. It definitely wasn't something I wanted to eat. There are a number of local restaurants that serve goetta on their menus, mostly for breakfast; however, there are some restaurants that have non-breakfast goetta items. Blue Ash Chili offers a GLT (goetta, lettuce, and tomato).

Goetta is typically made of pork and pinhead oats and some other seasonings and spices. It is very popular in Cincinnati. There are several local festivals that pay homage to goetta, and it is also served on the menus of a number of restaurants (mostly for breakfast...but not always.) At the various goetta fests, you can get all kinds of foods made with goetta. It seems that people who love goetta, really love goetta. Personally, I think it looks and sounds pretty gross.
