Im looking for a home to rent in Cleveland mid August 2012.

We found there was quite a shortage of rentals in this bracket and a fair bit of competition(18 mths ago). I would recommend starting as early as you can with your search and to personally contact the agents in area for help. We found Remax in Bloomfield St, Cleveland particulary friendly and helpful. I can also recommend the suburbs of Ormiston, Wellington Point and Thornlands. All equally as lovely with some very good schools close by.

Thankyou so much for your reply. Due to a lease we are already in we are very limited to what we can do before 2 weeks from our end lease date. All the areas you have mentioned are on our list as my husband works in the mines and his employer needs him in that area. Can you ring agents and enquire or put down your name do far in advance if they know a house will be available at that time? Once again thankyou.

You are welcome! Yes. I contacted the agents personally, but most only gave me a list of their current rentals. I don't think they take names, but certainly the sooner you start, the earlier your application will be placed. They know when houses are coming up for rent and the more notice you give them, the better. All I am going to say is that, like most places, there are those property managers who will do their utmost to help, then there are those who really won't. All the best with your search. Cheers
