What are some of the best free activities during the summer?
1 Answer
There are several big festivals in Denver every summer, many of which are free. My favorite is the Chalk Art Festival--lots of interesting murals and creativity. PrideFest is a popular event, but it can get a bit raucous. Be prepared for massive crowds. Jazz in the Park is an obvious winner, in City Park on Sundays in late summer. Great music and food trucks. Plus, you can walk around the lake if you need to get away from the crowds, or play a game of volleyball with friends. Needless to say, Wash Park always has volleyball and soccer games going on if you can find a league to join. Kickball leagues have become trendy in the summers, particularly the ones which involve running with an alcoholic beverage in hand. Farmers markets are held throughout the week, and are a great place to people watch, hear some live music, and pick up your weekly produce. Red Rocks has concerts throughout the summer which are popular.
