Barricuda's on 11th & Ogden never ceases to amaze me. It's a dive of sorts, but they have really great food, a huge menu, lots of vegetarian options, and they put on one of the best Thanksgiving buffets! It's almost bizarre! :) it's a really varied place and the clientele is incredibly diverse. The staff is very friendly... Just an overall comfortable place to hang out, get a drink, and eat...
Pete's Satire Lounge on East Colfax is an institution! I haven't been in there since they remodeled, so it may not be quite as dingy as you expect from a hole in the wall. But a great place!
For years now, Herman's Hideaway has been a great, fun place to be. The crowd is diverse although it mostly brings in music lovers as they have bands all the time. It's worth checking out.
