What's your favorite venue to catch a show in Denver?

I love to go to intimate live theater venues. I've found that there are some great improv shows at Avenue Theater and Voodoo Playhouse. Any other good ones to check out?

In a completely different vein -- if you like to laugh, check out the Heritage Square Music Hall in Golden. They do these hilarious adaptations and melodramas, they ad lib, they bring audience members into the story. I've been going there my whole life, and I still love it. But I usually go for the show only and get dinner somewhere else first -- their food is nothing to write home about.

Give the Roxy Theater a try. It's a sort of dive bar / small theater like the Black Sheep in Springs, but those are my favorite kinds. :) They've had a lot of different artists and bands in the past, so there are shows for almost everyone. http://www.theroxydenver.com/the-venue

Also, I like Herman's Hideaway for a good night of drinks and local music. Sometimes it's hit or miss with the quality of the bands, but that's half the fun.

I'll have to check out the Roxy. I've had a few friends play Herman's and I enjoyed seeing shows there.
