I'm no expert in hiking, but my favorite place is hike is up to Horsetooth Rock. It's a moderate hike and just little over 3 miles one way. The views of the city and Horsetooth reservoir from the top of the rock are beautiful! Definitely something you should do at lease once if you live in Fort Collins.
