Girrawheen 'west' seems to have a better reputation - any idea why?

Yes! West of Blackmore Avenue are all privately built homes. (no S.H.C. Homes were built there) But that is just snobbery or class distinction. It is also closer to Newpark Shopping Centre where Super IGA is open 7 days a week and, close to Farmer Jacks Asian Supermarket (Warehouse type). It is also adjacent to Girrawheen Senior High School.
