Is Harlem safe?

Is it safe to walk around during the day by yourself? Would you go out at night?

It's totally fine during the day. I have a number of friends that live in Harlem. I wouldn't really go out at night in Harlem -- unless, it's Salsa Dancing in Spanish Harlem or something. But, as far as living goes, it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. And, the closer you live to Central Park, the better.
