I would call Hermosa 'safe enough.' It isn't a terribly dangerous neighborhood, but it also isn't the safest place to be. You can certainly do a heck of a lot worse, and I wouldn't want any of my female friends to walk around alone here, but that doesn't mean I expect something bad to happen. I would just worry.
