The house was built in the early 1920's as a part of the War service homes for WW1 service men to purchase. The two French doors each side of the front door are an original feature of the homes from this era (1919 - early 20's war homes) as is the steep front roof line. The allotment for the war service houses in Ash St and Cornish St exceeded the recommended allotment at around 50 perches (an old measurement which works with yards).
