“Holy Mackerel” is a 100-year-old church situated on the banks of the beautiful Candlagan Creek. The church was built in 1915 and has been transformed into a unique and comfortable coastal retreat. It is well situated as a base to explore the stunning South Coast of NSW. Locally, you can take a short walk or canoe paddle to Broulee’s beautiful swimming and surf beaches. The converted church retains many of the buildings original features such as the arched windows, ironbark floors, lining boards and the high vaulted ceilings. The open plan living area is spacious and light and has been styled with an eclectic mix of vintage and coastal décor, with works by local artists Greg McKay, Peter Williams, Gillian Wilde and Naomi Lewis adorning the walls.
