On behalf of the members and committee of the Campbell Town Tennis Club; Harcourts Northern Midlands has been entrusted to sell 12 Pedder Street, Campbell Town. The Campbell Town Tennis Club have owned the Pedder Street site since 1920 and constructed two asphalt courts and laid two croquet lawns. At the time the club was known as the Campbell Town Tennis and Croquet Club. In 1950, the word 'Croquet' was removed from the title and a third court was build in 1962-63. Fast forward to present day; the facilities on offer at 12 Pedder Street include the following:
-Two asphalt-surfaced courts.
-Artificially surfaced concrete court.
-Weatherboard Clubhouse with kitchenette and change room.
-Weatherboard Pavilion.
-Children's Playground
Set on 0.5261Ha (1.3 acre) allotment, 12 Pedder Street is set on a leafy fully fenced allotment with a number of well-established oak and pine trees set throughout. The property is connected to all services and any planning requirements would require approval by the Northern Midlands Council.
The Pedder Street courts have been an iconic piece of the history of Campbell Town and Midlands district. It has been a social outlet for young and old; as their battle against each other during a friendly match or during tournament conducted by the Campbell Town Tennis Club. Support for the club has come from locals' residents or graziers on nearby properties since formation around 1890. But it is exciting times ahead for the Campbell Town Tennis Club as it will be relocating to a new multi-purpose facility at the Campbell Town War Memorial Oval which is set to open in mid-2019.
12 Pedder Street is only a short five-minute drive or walk to Campbell Town's central business district. Campbell Town is the 'hub' of the central midlands area of Tasmania and features a number of artisan and antique stores in addition to the conveniences such as the district school, medical and aged care facilities, Service Tasmania, Commonwealth Bank, IGA Supermarket and rural merchandise outlets. Campbell Town is only a leisurely 40 minutes' drive south of Launceston and 1hr 20 minutes north of Hobart.
