Rural Property description

“Ridgetop Ranch - pristine Currumbin Valley property with multiple dwellings”

From the Heart of the Seller:

"I've owned Ridgetop Ranch for almost 20 years. I first discovered it by chance-an old Queenslander-style home in a real estate window that immediately caught my eye. I had only just moved from Auckland with my 10-year-old daughter, and despite arriving in a storm so fierce my windscreen wiper flew off, I knew this Valley home was something special.

We were greeted by Arthur, a giant Irish Wolfhound who quickly became part of the property's charm-so much so that the creek beside the house is known as Arthur's swimming hole.

Built in the early 1940s, the home is one of the Valley's originals. Once part of a large parcel owned by the Stevens family, who were involved in the historic Mt Cougal sawmill, the land was originally a dairy farm and in very poor condition when I purchased it. Bit by bit, I restored it-room by room-bringing the property back to life. The stunning leadlight windows and the original 1937 wood-burning stove, now refurbished in fire-engine red, are some of my favourite features.

Over the years this home has been filled with family, animals, laughter and life. We raised chickens, horses, dogs and watched our grandchildren grow up enjoying the creek, paddocks and wildlife.

In 2019, I built my dream secondary dwelling at the top of the property-affectionately named Heaven on the Hill. With breathtaking views, sunsets, starry nights and the escarpment mist rolling through, it feels like a mix of Tuscany and New Zealand. It is peaceful, private, and incredibly beautiful, yet only minutes to beaches and amenities.

The property draws pristine water from natural springs and creek-fed tanks, with gravity-fed pressure to the main home. It also includes a music studio and pottery and candle rooms.

Nearby are Mt Cougal National Park, the glow worm track, Currumbin Valley Harvest Café, The Valley Estate wedding venue, Currumbin Valley State School, the rock pools and café, free school bus services, and Currumbin Alley and beaches just 19km away. The Pines Shopping Centre is also close by.

Ridgetop Ranch has been a place of peace, hard work, joy and achievement. I believe the next owner will feel its magic too-and once here, won't want to let it go. It's the kind of property that becomes part of the family for generations."
