HISTORY

This property was purchased in 2003 with the intention of developing a small riding school and recreational area for camping etc. It was purchased at that time for around $400,000.00 but the land comprised of a house and large shed only.

Over a four year period the owners cleared much of the land, cut trails through forested areas, built arena and round yard, built a 3 bay barn, put in water distribution system, ran electrical systems to the barn and outer arena areas, built stable areas, erected and/or repaired 7 kilometres of fences (dozens of gates) and developed safe riding areas and procedures.

The improvements cost well over $850,000.00 (materials and labour). The riding school operated during this period and continued to operate until the end of 2011.

A very serious motor vehicle accident created serious injuries to the proprietors and the riding school closed down operation as a result. It has now been restored to an operational level.

The property was running a successful horse riding school for 8+ years, with the existing infrastructure still in place a return to its previous existence will take very little effort. .

Along with the riding school and farm-stay accommodation there are private camping (recreation areas) that were frequently used. Bushwalking and bush cooking activities were encouraged. Overseas student stays was another source of income.
