It is serviced by a rail station on the Belgrave line which takes you in to the CBD in around 45mins. There are many schools and kindergartens in the suburb and surrounding area such Ferntree Gully North Primary School, Mountain Gate Primary School, St John the Baptist Primary School, and St Joseph's College. There’s Mountain Gate Shopping Centre where you’ll find Woolworths, BWS, pet supplies and various other retail and restaurants, Aldi, another Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse further down the road, and many cafes, fast food outlets and restaurants in between.
