Russell Island is part of Redland City Council in Queensland and is the largest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands situated between North Stradbroke Island and the mainland.
The island has a great deal of facilities and services including RSL, Bowls Club, a Super IGA, Post office, hairdressers, pharmacy, petrol station, hardware store, vet, pet shop and several great cafes and restaurants. It also has a medical centre and pathology.
