The home was built for a prominent Judge and MP on 4 acres of land when the area of Dulwich was released for sale. In 1890 it was the second largest home in Dulwich and the grand frontage imposing set back from the road with fountain and circular drive for carriage access at the front door.

Today being set back is an advantage allowing for a wonderful circular garden around the original restored fountain and a view of the stately decorative front of the house that is always amazing for its design and skilled craftsmanship making this house is a 'hidden gem' unknown to many locals.
