The history:
The Elms (originally called Richmond Villa) has been an iconic Yass property for many years - the original Title Deeds dated 11 Jan 1856 show the land owned by Edward Conn. Edward built the house and cottage from stone sourced from the Yass River and used hand made bricks for the internal walls. Interestingly in 1851 Edward was tried at Yass Court for stealing a saddle from a Mr McKay of Bowning. The front of the home facing Grampian Street has the original French doors & shutters under a Bellcast veranda.
