The irrigation water for this system is provided via a bore on the northern section of 'Glen Ayr'. This water also supplies the pivots on 'Wallaringa' via a series of underground mains.

The 'Strontian Aggregation' is located in a relatively temperate, moderate rainfall climate with rainfall being largely spread evenly across the twelve months of the year.
