Species include, but not restricted to, Jacaranda along the fence line, an avenue of Oleanders, Poinciana, Brachychitons, various Grevilleas, Golden Pendas, pink and yellow Cassia trees, Golden Trumpet tree, various other native and rainforest trees and shrubs, Australian Conifers, and a Bull Bay Magnolia. One section of the Secret Garden also hosts a small orchard with olives, mulberry, guavas, loquat, ice cream bean tree, pine nut and pomegranate.
Upon entering the house yard you can see the tropical garden which provides privacy to the laundry yard, the Asian inspired garden with a small pond and a rose garden of 30+ scented roses in varying colours. Following along the driveway is hedge of hibiscus.
Between the house and first shed is the courtyard garden "Gert's Garden". This garden was designed on the English Cottage Garden style and houses many perennial flowering plants to encourage small birds, bees, butterflies and beneficial insects. There are many scented plants in this garden which not only provide colour, but fragrance which permeates through the house from season to season.
The Orchard is in the house yard beside the chook pen or "Hen Hilton". It has a huge variety of mature and younger citrus including Shaddock, Lemonade, Washington Navel Orange, Eureka Lemon, Valencia Orange, Honey Murcott Mandarin, Imperial Mandarin, Clementine Mandarin, Tahitian Lime, Emperor Mandarin, Bananas, Tropical Apple and Red Delicious Apple, Finger Lime, Blood Orange, and Tangelo.
The Food Court has a number of raised metal garden beds and a small garden shed to house tools and supplies. It is currently growing a Nectarine, Sweet Potato, Choko, Asparagus, Raspberries, Rhubarb, various herbs, chillies, Ned Kelly Passionfruit, Black Genoa Fig, and a number of Pineapples. Outside the Food Court is a multi-grafted Peach/Blood Plum, self pollinating Pear and two varieties of Dragonfruit. In the main house yard is a very large black mulberry and a Shahtoot (white fruiting) Mulberry.
