“Spotswood”
Tucked away in the shadow of one of Australia's most iconic bridges, the West Gate Bridge, and just a short trip from the CBD, Spotswood is an inner-west suburb that's home to Science Works Museum, the Donald McLean Reserve, numerous sporting and community groups and the new addition of Grazeland’s. In my opinion it’s Melbourne’s best keep secret of the Inner West. Spotswood delivers village charm, an array of speciality shops, wine bars and the best bakery in town, Candy. The ques get so long to buy their homemade bread expect to wait 30 minutes in the que. My adult children were bought up in Spotswood from their teenage years. Public transport was always easy to access for universities and the night life Melbourne CBD has to offer. Spotswood has that industrial feel. Old warehouses have been converted by the artistic kind. The suburb is home to many artists, brewery makers and furniture makers. I had my dining table made from a fabulous furniture maker who learnt his trade in Denmark.
