KOPARA-MARA

Our property is called Kopara-mara : meaning as fingers come together on the hand so do things come together and happen here in this special place.
When we found this property, we knew we wanted to create somewhere for our family and friends to come together. A place our grandchildren could ride billy carts down the hill, climb trees and toast marshmallows on the stone fire place. Set up tents for a night of adventure and torch spotting.
For all those who love nature there are the special moments of discovering the echidna by the front veranda and the koala barking in the nearby tree. There are mobs of kangaroos hopping across the adjacent quarry paddocks and of course the birds in the garden and the frogs in the pond. Then there are the magnificent resident couple of eagles riding the air currents, almost within touching distance.
The expansive kitchen and the open plan living area is a place to entertain, where our family and friends have gathered for cook ups using the fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden and variety of fruit trees. From the balcony we watch the changing seasons marked by the ebb and flow of the vineyards, from bare vines to lush greens and onto the golden afterglow of the post picking time.
Inside the air conditioned home in summer we see the changes in light as it dances off the gulf waters and is reflected in the blue glass kitchen splash back.
