As you arrive the property, you are welcomed up the drive past the pretty, yet low-care gardens, up to the cottage which is reminiscent of an old barn conversion. Stepping up onto the sundeck, there is a calming effect with a view straight down to the water through the gumtrees opposite. From here, French doors connects the deck with the first living space. The sun streams in here with picture windows framing the garden and bay vista.

Moving through to the next room, the beautiful timber floor, transitions into clever use of bricks, creating a floor that would be more at home in the Mediterranean. Adding to this old world charm is the exposed timber beams. This room is spacious and yet snug and extends the living space into the heart of the cottage. There is enough room for a large dining table, big enough to entertain all the family and friends at once. Off this area is the kitchen, which is also packed with charm, including a lovely stained glass window and timber features. What is great here is that you get all this character to enjoy with the comforts of modern living. The appliances are all good quality and there is even ducted air-conditioning throughout for ease and comfort all year round. In the corner, a unique wood burning heater will provide warmth throughout the home as well as a wonderful snug atmosphere. Up on the roof, a substantial array of solar panels are cleverly hidden from site and provide a massive dent in the power bills.

From this space, there are 2 bedrooms that ooze country cottage. These are interlinked with a large walk-through robe, providing excellent storage. They also share the super quaint bathroom which has a full walk-in shower as well as a claw-foot deep soak bath. Through to the rear of the home, a third bedroom could be used for the home office. Here the light floods into the space, currently it is set-up with a daybed. A lovely spot to retreat with a good book. At this end of the home, there is a workshop/storage area, with another set of French doors that open out onto the sundeck, once again taking advantage of the view down to the bay. Abels bay is within 10 minutes of Cygnet. Known for its cultural and musical atmosphere, you will find all your basic services here including schools, doctors, small supermarket and plenty of eateries. The hub of the Huon Valley is within 20 minutes away at Huonville and Hobart is accessible within an hour.
