Swinger Hill, an experimental prototype to test medium density design principles, was a demonstration project for private developers commissioned by NCDC, to inspire innovative design solutions for Canberra development.
Modern, appealing, and an excellent example of the Sydney regional style of architecture, the Barnet Close houses form a consistent group, unified by the careful selection of materials, colours, detailing and landscaping. Designed to integrate the outdoors with the indoors, the garden courts were paved in brick and on the same level as the living room floors to avoid the sense of division created by a change in level.
