The History
William Jones Humphreys built the home in 1890. Thomas Cain in 1891 had purchased a cottage on the lots and Mr Brady a builder from Gisborne, added extensive alterations by 1892. Thomas Cain had named the house Green Lodge.
In 1913 relatives Eugene and Gerald OConnell became the new owners after Mr Cains passing. It was then in 1920 the property was purchased by Harriet Campbell who renamed the property, Kelvin Grove and converted it into a private hospital.
