There is something special about a character house that evokes a warm, cosy and inviting feeling. People seemed to be a lot more in tune with what made a house more like a home back in the old days and it was reflected in the designs of that era.
We love our home because; It has generous sized rooms with high ceilings that doesn't make you feel like you're living in a shoe box. There's something special and timeless about polished jarrah floors, lead light windows, a wood fired oven and the crackling and warmth of a fire on a cold or rainy day. We also love the fact that we have a garden that encompasses our entire house and offers us privacy, distance from the neighbours and an outlook to the trees and sky that is so therapeutic for the soul.
We enjoy waking up to the sound of the birds that visit the mature gums and flame tree that surround the property. Having that first cup of coffee and breakfast is always special as the sunlight and warmth comes flooding in through the kitchen window. BBQ's, catching up with family and friends and enjoying a few too many Vino's are always a pleasure in our side yard and watching our dog have the space to run around the house or just snooze under a tree always puts a smile on our faces.
These are just a few reasons why we have come to call 69 Eileen Street our home, with all its little quirks, lived in feel and character. It has made us realize and open our minds on what a home should be, and what it should give to its owners. We now seek more of what we have got from owning a home like Eileen and so we would like to pass this special place onto you, so that you too can create your own vision, memories and create a special place to call your home.
