Forestry scientist now retired, Bob Ellis and his wife, Joy, purchased the land in 1985 and set about re-establishing and regenerating this north facing block after it had been extensively cleared in the 1970's.

Their objectives to reforest and improve the stocking and quality of natural regrowth as well as produce an inexhaustible supply of fire wood, a good crop of mill-logs and veneer logs plus develop a pleasing environment for recreational visits have all been realised.

It is with some regret that they have decided to finally let go their pet project and move onto their next adventures.

The variety and size of the various tree types including stringy bark, blue gum, peppermint, white gum, Blackwoods and Oyster Bay pines are an arborist's delight.

There is a serviceable and clean small caravan, long-drop, bush shower and timber tables and chairs are all in situ on the partly cleared camping area with views of Norfolk Bay and Central Tasmania in the distance.

A unique and special part of the Tasman Peninsula.
