"Shaster Downs Tree Farm" is located on the southwestern corner of Coxall and Bedford Harbour East Roads, being approximately 130 kms west of the regional centre of Esperance, 26 kms southwest of Munglinup, and 12 kms north of the Munglinup beach caravan park.
The property was originally cleared for cropping and grazing, but since 2002, approximately 380 hectares has been under plantation forestry, 100 hectares un grazed pasture, and with the remaining area being remnant vegetation and natural lake.
There is a diverse range of soils, ranging from sandy duplex, with some deeper sands and shallower types over lateritic gravel and clay. The diversity in soil types reveals a diverse spread of flowering native vegetation.
Rainfall is approximately 525 mm per annum.
