Want the most extensive views in Cape? Cape Paterson residents include wombats, koalas, echidnas, black cockatoos and numerous other native bird species - which are often seen in the back/front yard. A friendly mob of kangaroos inhabits the west end of the town.
Cape Paterson is reached by a drive of less than 2 hours from the Melbourne CBD. The surrounding district offers many and varied attractions. Phillip Island is a half hour drive, Wilsons Promontory is only an hour away; and the region capital, Wonthaggi, is 5 minutes up the road. For a leisurely walk-and-dine, the Cape Tavern is a popular eatery all year round.
