There is a lot to like about 82 Ebden Street...

ACT Architect awards entrant with feature editorials in local media for a sympathetic extension to a Canberra Cottage.

Architect Geoff Lovie's brief was to provide additions to the existing residence which works with the geometry of the original house but which are modern in styling, energy efficiency and define external courtyard space.

The original brick cottage has been transformed to a spacious modern kitchen with island bench and walk in pantry, open plan living dining area and 4th bedroom all looking onto the central courtyard area.

The new additions are linked by a hallway entry area with walk through access to the double garage with auto door.

There is a sun-hall to access the 3 bedroom wing and main bathroom.
Main bedroom has open bath spa with shower, large walk-in robe and separate toilet.
The sun-hall catches the north sun and has access to the private courtyard area.

The central courtyard gives a sense of shelter from Ebden Street and glimpses of Hoddle Gardens Park. Owners comments

A wonderful place to live, play and work

We love our home. What more can we say having owned, and lived, at 82 Ebden Street for nearly 20 years. It's a quarter acre corner block in Ainslie with a two-minute walk to the Ainslie Shops and Mount Ainslie Reserve.

We bought a small and cosy red-brick cottage on a large, totally un-landscaped block, and turned it into a totally modern, open, home, with a minimalist Colourbond extension, attached brick double-garage and fully landscaped surrounds, including paved courtyards and rose garden.

We wanted a family home that was on one level, that was open and light and 'brought the outside in' through a lot of glass and sliding doors. We thought this was important as there are quite a few months in Canberra when it is either too hot or too cold to go outside.

Our home is a great place to live, work, create, entertain and relax. It was designed with all of this in mind. There are large open spaces that let in a lot of light, yet there are rooms and parts of the garden you can escape to when you want to get away from everything or find a quiet place to read or soak up the sun.

Disclaimer: We take the utmost care in providing information regarding properties advertised for sale, however we accept no responsibility and disclaim all liabilities in regards to any errors or inaccuracies contained in advertising material.
