A Word From Our Sellers .....
Hello, if you are reading this, then you must be considering buying our house at 82 Forgan Rd. Type the address into Google Maps. We are that dot midway between Forgan Cove and Bullocky's Rest. All of the peninsula directly opposite us is a nature reserve. It's a bit like living in your own national park.
We thought it might be helpful to tell you a bit about Forgan Cove and Lake Samsonvale, so that even if you do not buy our house, you will get to appreciate that Lake Samsonvale is a wonderful and very special place.
Just over the road from our house there are many tracks for jogging, walking and bike riding. If you like birds, Lake Samsonvale is one of the premier places in South East Queensland for birdwatching.
Of course, one of the other great attractions of living here is the fishing. Walk out the door over the road and down to the edge of the lake, (two minutes) and you are ready to cast. We are amazed at how popular we are, given the number of people who drop in for a visit on the weekend, and just happen to have their rods and reels, creels, lures and bait handy. The lake has been stocked by Pine River Fish Management Association with Australian bass, Yellowbelly (Golden Perch, Snub Nose Gar, Mary River Cod . And in the season you can get a good feed of Red Claw Crays.
If you are into canoeing or kayaking. Then you are in luck. SEQ water allow canoes, kayaks and non- powered craft on the lake. And, as we write, the Forgan Cove rest area is being revamped with launch points, carparking and bar-be-ques for those who like a paddle. This is a huge body of water with, with some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever encounter.
If you are into sailing, Lake Samsonvale Sailing club just five minutes away up Winn's Road. They have a clubhouse and regular sailing competitions.
OK, OK , so now you are all worn out just reading about all these activities. All that jogging, walking, mountain bike riding, sailing, kayaking and fishing has left you in need of calm and tranquillity and a good rest. Well, if you make it to one of our "open days", we promise that you will find that our place is the just the place for doing that.
But after the "open house" you might just want to relax with a cold beer, a good pub lunch, or coffee and cake, then you should visit Old Petrie Town. Here you can join The Men's Shed, learn pottery, tinker with steam engines, do blacksmithing, visit the local history museum, buy fresh bread baked in a wood-fired oven, buy fresh fruit and vegs, find craft or clothes, sit in shade listen and to the buskers or bush poets, or just wander around with a bag of old style lollies or an ice-cream. It's just a five minute drive to the amazing Old Petrie Town.
And remember, every evening you can just wander down to the edge of the lake and sit and watch the most amazing sunsets you have ever seen in your life (for free).
