The Bega Valley Shire is located at the south-eastern corner of New South Wales, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne just an hour’s drive from Canberra. Bega is a growing economy, with almost $1.6 billion annual Gross Regional Product, over $860 million in exports each year, and over 3,100 local businesses. Since 2018, the Far South Coast region has experienced notable investment initiatives, with various projects either in planning or already underway. Notably, the region welcomed the establishment of the new $260 million Eurobodalla Regional Hospital, reflecting a commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, there has been a $24 million injection into TAFE facilities aimed at enhancing skill development opportunities. Furthermore, the region has witnessed substantial investment exceeding $50 million in regional tourism infrastructure, signaling a concerted effort to bolster tourism prospects. Over $100 million has been pledged towards private residential and commercial development, indicating sustained growth and economic vitality within the area.
