Bellbird is a town and locality in the City of Cessnock in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Cessnock is about 52 km (32 mi) by road west of Newcastle. Cessnock is located 152 km north of Sydney via the M1 freeway. It has direct access to the Pacific Motorway connecting Sydney and Brisbane via the NSW North Coast, and to the Hunter Expressway which links to the New England Highway and the Golden Highway to the North, linking Cessnock LGA to the highly productive agricultural and mining areas of the Upper Hunter, New England North West and Central NSW regions.
Cessnock is a nominated growth area. There are nine large urban land release areas spread throughout the City that will accommodate a further 13,000 new dwellings.
Cessnock Airport has sites suitable for aviation-based service industries and tourism businesses.
